When you’re just starting out on your adventure to Tural in Final Fantasy XIV, you’re going to need some gear to up your iLvl. A lot of the recipes for level 91-93 gear share a common ingredient — Silver Lobo Leather.
Before you can get the Silver Lobo Leather, you’ll need to get some Silver Lobo Hide. There’s a few different ways you can get your hands on this simple resource, so let’s get into it.
How to farm Silver Lobo Hide in Final Fantasy XIV
Silver Lobo Hide comes from an obvious source – Silver Lobos. This Beastkin enemy can be found in the hills of Urqopacha and their spawn area is very close to the Wachunpelo Aetheryte. It’s easy to find them by traveling there and heading southwest.
In this small area, you’ll find a large concentration of Silver Lobo. They’re all level 90, so you can easily farm them from the very beginning of your Dawntrail journey.
Sadly, the drop rate for Silver Lobo Hide seems to be on the low side, and you may need to make the rounds in this small area a few times to get a good number of Hides.
How to get Silver Lobo Hide with Bicolor Gemstones
Thankfully, while farming the Silver Lobo Hide direct from the source may prove difficult, there is another way to get a lot of Hides.
Even if you’ve completed only a single FATE in Urqopacha, you’ll have access to Tepli, the Gemstone Trader in Wachunpelo (X:27.4, Y:11.7). They sell Silver Lobo Hide for 3 Bicolor Gemstones each.
If you’ve completed all of your Shared FATEs in Dawntrail, you’ll also be able to purchase Silver Lobo Hide for the same price from the two major city hub Gemstone Traders, who can be found in the following locations:
- Beryl in Solution Nine (X:8.4, Y:14.0)
- Kajeel Ja in Tuliyollal (X:12.8, Y:13.0)
Other ways to get Silver Lobo Hide in Final Fantasy XIV
If you’re lucky, your Retainers can also bring back Silver Lobo Hide from the following Ventures:
- Hunting (Level 90)
- Field Exploration (Level 91)
Of course this does rely on your Retainers having the appropriate Job, and you’ll only get a maximum of 15 Silver Lobo Hide per 18 hour venture. As such, you’re better off doing some FATEs, which provide a minimum of 16 Bicolor Gemstones per completed FATE, allowing you to stockpile Hides in a short space of time.
How to use Silver Lobo Hide in Final Fantasy XIV
Silver Lobo Hide can be turned into Silver Lobo Leather by Leatherworkers using the following level 91 recipe:
