To the uninitiated, Germany’s automakers are mostly known for sensible, expertly-built luxury saloons and SUVs, but even the freshest petrol heads will be well aware that Germany is no stranger to a thrill-inducing driving machine. That’s exactly what you’ll find in abundance in the ‘GGG Collection’, which has just become available with Axel Schuette, meaning some excellent examples of Germany’s greatest sports cars are now looking for a new home.
Starting with the oldest car of the bunch, we have a truly gorgeous 1958 Series 2 BMW 507 finished in bright blue with an accompanying matching hard top. These beautiful roadsters helped prove to the world that BMW could produce a sports car on par with anything else in Europe, and it’s no surprise that they found their way onto plenty of famous driveways, from Elvis Presley to Hans Stuck. Also offered for sale is the 507’s new-millennium reincarnation in the form of a pristine 26,000 km BMW Z8, which is joined by a lovely Z3M roadster as well as the first car in the Z family: the Z1 with its famed retractable doors.
