Expert talks increase in investments for grid battery manufacturing

    May 13, 20251 Min Read

JACKSON, Tenn. — The need for more and more power is becoming greater.

That’s according to energy experts who say the demand for electricity is skyrocketing–prompting an increase in investments for grid battery manufacturing.

Tennessee has two manufacturing facilities that are currently in development and will be manufacturing batteries or battery parts.

Experts share why this is breakthrough innovation.

“Beyond just ensuring that households have reliable and affordable electricity, the expansion and deployment of grid batteries here in the United States, it’s critical for the expansion of data centers to support artificial intelligence, new factories and industrial manufacturing facilities,” said Noah Roberts, Vice President, Energy Storage, American Clean Power Association.

Tennessee has more than 3,000 jobs that are supporting the energy storage sector – jobs that range from machinists and technicians to chemists and software engineers.
