Chicago-based Bitcoin kiosks are now at some convenience stores in Texas, which the company believes is a good location to provide safe, clean and quality locations for customers.
Startup cryptocurrency CoinFlip has partnered with Fort Worth-based Yesway to place 45 kiosks in Yesway and Allsup locations such as Texas, South Dakota, New Mexico, Wyoming and Iowa.
“Yesway and its many Texas locations embody this customer- and community-first ethos and we could not be prouder to launch our partnership with them in Texas,” said Josh Allen, group vice president of global kiosks and international of CoinFlip, in a statement.
25 kiosks will be in Yesway and Allups in Texas cities including Lubbock, Amarillo, Graham, Abilene, Jacksboro, Stephenville, Kermit, Pecos, Perryton, Pampa, Dalhart, Dumas, Plainview, Canyon, Littlefield, Muleshoe, Levelland, Brownfield, Andrews, Lamesa, Monahans, Childress, Snyder and Coleman.
“These are our first locations to kick off our partnership and we look forward to the opportunity to expand even further across the state,” Allen said.
CoinFlip is a global digital currency platform company that provides consumers with simple and secure access to buy and sell cryptocurrency, a company representative said in an email. CoinFlip operates “CoinFlip Preferred” which provides an over-the-counter service for investors who need custom, white-glove support for cryptocurrency transactions.
Founded in 2015, the cryptocurrency has a large crypto ATM operator with 400,000 customers globally and more than $4 billion in transaction volume, according to the company. They also have a dedicated Consumer Protection Officer, offers 24.7 live customer support, Safe in Six to help prevent potential scams and the app mechanism for the “self-custodial wallet.”
“As one of the world’s largest operators of cryptocurrency kiosks, CoinFlip will provide our Yesway and Allsup’s customers the convenience of a seamless experience for buying or selling digital currencies,” said Alan Adato, senior manager of merchandising and procurement of Yesway, in a statement.
CoinFlip also has more than 5,000 kiosks across nine countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Panama, Brazil and Mexico.
Users can download the “CoinFlip Crypto Wallet” app on IOS and Android mobile devices if they don’t have a digital wallet. The app will also have the locations of any nearby kiosk associated with CoinFlip. Once the user arrives at the kiosk, they can put in the type and amount of cryptocurrency they want to purchase and enter their information. Then the person can scan the digital wallet, select “buy,” and complete the transaction.
Transactions of more than $960 will need to be registered.
