Richborough Residential has set its sights on an eight-hectare area of agricultural land west of Swanlow Lane.
The property company is preparing an application for planning permission to Cheshire West and Chester Council but not before a public consultation with some of the residents around the area.
Its proposal is for up to 180 homes, almost a third of which would be affordable homes, as well as outdoor space, outdoor play provision, and ecological enhancements like ponds and planting.

“The feedback from the local community and key stakeholders is important to us. All comments will be carefully considered as we develop our proposals.”
The plan for a housing estate near to the junction of Swanlow Lane and Moors Lane appears to be separate to another plan for a housing estate near to the junction of Swanlow Lane and Welsh Lane.
Previously Muller Property Group announced the acquisition of a larger, 24-hectare area of agricultural land over the summer ahead of an application for planning permission for more than 600 homes.
Simon Boone, the councillor for Swanlow Ward (Image: Cheshire West and Chester Council) Simon Boone, the councillor for Swanlow Ward on Cheshire West and Chester Council, said in a post on social media there was a need for a public meeting about these developments and other developments.
The details of the public meeting are to be determined at the time of writing.
Cllr Boone said: “We need a public meeting and I will setting one up to discuss this with the wider community.”
Richborough Residential’s application will be for outline planning permission so the details of the development such as the appearance, scale and size of the homes will be subject to another, later application.
