- Rwanda agricultural exports rise 6.4% to $893.16 million
- Coffee earnings jump 47% on higher volumes and prices

Rwanda’s agricultural exports earned $893.16 million in the 2024/2025 fiscal year, according to an annual report published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources on Dec. 31.
The total was up 6.4% from $839.2 million a year earlier. Coffee was the main driver and posted the biggest year-on-year increase. Coffee earnings rose 47% to $116.18 million. The ministry said the increase was driven by higher export volumes and prices, with coffee prices rising to $5.66 per kilogram from $4.78.
The report added that diversification into other crops and animal products helped cushion declines in traditional exports such as tea and pyrethrum. Coffee accounted for 13% of total agricultural export earnings, followed by tea at 12% and horticulture at 10%. The rise keeps Rwanda on track to meet its export targets. Under the fifth phase of its Strategic Plan for Agricultural Transformation (PSTA 5), the government aims to earn more than $1.5 billion from agricultural exports by 2028/2029.
