Dunelm shoppers are praising a “perfect” electric throw they say helps them “save on energy bills.” The retailer, known for its affordable homeware, is selling the Teddy Electric Throw for £40.

The blanket is made with 100% polyester and features a soft, teddy texture and a 278cm cable. It is also machine washable.

Dunelm’s full product description reads: “Indulge in luxurious warmth and comfort with this exquisite Heated Throw, designed with a plush teddy bear texture for an irresistibly soft and cosy feel. Boasting adjustable heat settings, this throw lets you tailor your warmth to perfection.

“Its machine-washable design ensures easy maintenance and enduring quality. Embrace ultimate snugness with this stylish and versatile heated throw, perfect for any chilly evening.”

Elsewhere, shoppers could snap up the StaySnug Bubble Faux Fur Heated Throw for £59.99 at Lakeland. Boots also stocks the Dreamland Intelliheat Warming Throw for £49.69, while Argos has the £50 Home Neutral Heated Throw.

The popular blanket has racked up rave reviews online, gaining a 4.5 star rating overall. Among the many reviews, one shopper said: “Perfect, heats up lovely and is very energy efficient. Really happy with it, I bought 2!”

A second wrote: “I’ve used my blanket every day since I bought it. I’ve tried plugging it in but get a bit hot. However as winter approaches I’m sure this will give me the warmth and comfort I need and perhaps it will save on energy bills as I’ll be tucked in a warm blanket.”

A third impressed shopper added: “Very cosy teddy throw. Bought 2 of these to avoid high heating bills this winter and they are fab. Very soft and so far only had it on the lowest setting. Love the colours too.”

However, some shoppers were less impressed with the throw. One person wrote: “Not as hot as I would like. The blanket doesnt get as hot as previous blankets. Just warmish. It’s also thinner than I thought.”

A second said: “Not very happy, it heats up ok but the throw is not best quality for £40.”

Despite this, others continued to praise the product. One happy shopper said: “Lovely throw, will be useful in the cold winter months. Energy prices going up and no winter heating allowance, I think this could be a lifesaver for old folks to keep warm. It’s also very economical to run, a few pence per hour.”

Another added: “Toasty cosy blanket. Lovely and cosy, heats up quickly and helps relax tired body. Recommend you to try one they are cheap to use and perfect for a quick warm up when heating not on. Washable and lovely super soft fabric.”
