Technology issues that grounded United Airlines’ flights nationwide have been resolved.
According to U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, he was briefed by United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby.
According to Kirby, UA suffered an internal tech outage, which only affected United flights.
“The team at @FAANews is in close contact with [United Airlines] systems operations team,” Secretary Duffy wrote on X, “and we’ve offered our full support to help them clear up the flight backlog.”
Earlier Wednesday evening, United Airlines announced that all flights, nationwide, would be delayed from departure due to what the airline called a “technology issue.”
In a statement released by the airline, they said:
Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports. We expect additional flight delays this evening as we work through this issue. Safety is our top priority, and we’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations.
We’ll share additional updates as new information becomes available.
