    Stock Market Sectors: Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

    NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed lower in the Thursday’s session.

    AWL Agri Business Ltd.(up 2.78%), Gopal Snacks Ltd.(up 1.36%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(up 1.29%), ADF Foods Ltd.(up 0.97%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 0.68%), LT Foods Ltd.(up 0.43%), Patanjali Foods Ltd.(up 0.19%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(up 0.09%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 0.09%) and Dabur India Ltd.(up 0.05%) stood among the top gainers.

    Hindustan Foods Ltd.(down 2.64%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd.(down 2.30%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 2.29%), Emami Ltd.(down 1.97%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(down 1.62%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(down 1.58%), Gillette India Ltd.(down 1.49%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(down 1.40%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(down 1.29%) and Zydus Wellness Ltd.(down 1.21%) were among the top losers of the day.

    The NSE Nifty50 index ended 120.85 points down at 25355.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 345.8 points at 83190.28.

    Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.45%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.44%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.05%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 0.75%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 0.65%), Jio Financial Services Ltd.(up 0.55%), Trent Ltd.(up 0.43%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.41%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.28%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 0.17%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

    On the other hand, Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 2.74%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.92%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.91%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.48%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.37%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.15%), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.1%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.09%), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.03%) and Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 1.0%) closed in the red.
