Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex opened today’s session lower. Nifty 50 opened at 23,341.10, while Sensex opened at 76,882.58. The indices have remained volatile in trade, with the India VIX index up nearly 9% around 12.30 pm.
Asian stocks were in the green in early trade today. However, global markets remain on edge this truncated week ahead of Trump’s reciprocal tariff implementation on April 2.
Indian markets also begin the new financial year 2026 today. For FY25, the market posted positive returns for the second straight fiscal, with the Nifty increasing over 5%. A total of 27 Nifty stocks delivered positive results, with 16 of them gaining at least 10%. Meanwhile, three Nifty stocks — Nestle India, Adani Ports and Bajaj Auto — witnessed declines of more than 10% as they emerged as the top losers.
Vodafone Idea, ITC, IREDA, HAL, LTIMindtree, BSE, Sun Pharma, IndiGo, JSW Steel, NHPC, Newgen Software Tech, RITES, Engineers India, HBL Engineering, Uno Minda, United Spirits, Blue Star, Brigade Enterprises, Vedanta, Auto stocks, Tata Motors, gas stocks, Adani Green Energy, Varun Beverages, Waaree Energies, Suzlon Energy, are among the stocks in focus today.
