Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index has fallen below the 24,950 mark, trading with a decline of about 150 points. The Sensex index is falling towards the 81,000 mark, with the index falling by over 450 points. SBI Life, HCL Tech, Hero Motocorp, and Adani Ports are among the major losers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index appears to have run out of steam, as the 50-stock index has fallen below 24,950 yet again. The Sensex index is also down almost 500 points.
When we look at the broader markets, the all-important Nifty Bank is down 300 points. The small-cap and midcap indices are in focus, with the Nifty Midcap 100 index under pressure of over 0.40%.
This comes at a time when sentiments around capital market stocks like BSE and Angel One took a hit after the SEBI chairman’s statements on increasing the tenure of derivative expiries. Both stocks are trading relatively muted.
Ramco Cements, Nava Industries, IDBI, Godfrey Philips are among of the biggest losers among the Nifty 500 stocks.
After snapping a six-week losing streak last week, the Nifty is poised for its second straight weekly advance, as long as it closes above 24,631.
