Aimed at college leavers exploring university-level study, as well as adults looking to upskill or boost their career prospects, the event will offer visitors the chance to tour the campuses, explore the state-of-the-art facilities and meet expert teaching staff.
Led by Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG), the £25 million development delivers high-quality technical skills training in priority sectors, including advanced engineering and manufacturing, modern methods of construction, digital technologies and health sciences.
The IoT features various industry-standard facilities, including a VR/AR immersive space, a mock hospital ward, testing laboratories, robotics and automation equipment, as well as an advanced manufacturing learning factory. Learners will also benefit from conference rooms, a lecture theatre, a bistro and a range of immersive teaching spaces.
Offering a range of pathways, from short courses and higher apprenticeships to degree-level programmes, the IoT provides opportunities for individuals to gain the skills needed to start a career, progress in the workplace or retrain in a new field.
Located on Castle Street, the IoT offers visitors to the open event free, onsite parking.
The development is just a 5 minute walk away from the NSCG Stafford College campus, which will be hosting its first open event of the academic year for 16-18 year old learners on the same evening.
A shuttle bus service will run between the two campuses throughout the evening, giving visitors the opportunity to experience both sites.
The IoT’s open event follows the launch of its Product Design Centre, a brand-new hub designed to help businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators bring new ideas to life.
