BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – The state industrial commission has approved a new grant program for the Research and Technology Park at North Dakota State University.
The program will support research and product development that advance intelligent autonomous mobile equipment, primarily in agriculture and defense.
Research and Technology Park CEO Brenda Wyland presented the plan to the Industrial Commission, which will oversee the program.
“This program builds a direct pathway from scientific discovery to market deployment, accelerating dual-use technologies that strengthen our economy and advance both agriculture and defense,” Wyland said. “We are deeply grateful to the Industrial Commission for their support and to the North Dakota Legislature for their commitment and vision in making this program investment possible.”
Gov. Kelly Armstrong chairs the Industrial Commission. The other members are Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and Attorney General Drew Wrigley.
The Legislature approved $5 million in non-matching money and $5 million in matched funding for the grant program.
