MILFORD, CT — It appears that the beloved Sundae House, which has served sweet treats for over 60 years, is no more. The property is listed for $400,000 in Milford, according to a LoopNet.com listing.
The 499 New Haven Ave. property includes 1,244 square feet of retail space. The real estate listing highlights the location’s proximity to “major retailers such as Starbucks and Buffalo Wild Wings located nearby.” The property is also on “the highly desirable New Haven Ave. [and] benefits from tremendous visibility to over 20,000 vehicles per day.”
Google lists the business as permanently closed. The Sundae House website is no longer operational.
The shop’s owner was not immediately available for comment.
The last post on the Sundae House’s Facebook page is from Sept. 10 and noted that the business will be closing “for a few days” beginning Sept. 12. The post said they will return Sept. 18 to finish out the month.
The social media page noted that the Sundae House will close for the season but did not specify whether it would be returning.
Last year, the shop celebrated 60 years of serving Milford. The Sundae House sold both traditional and soft serve styles of ice cream.
