Hilco Real Estate Finance has appointed Asim Shirwani as its managing director.

The institutionally-backed property lender says Shirwani “will focus on growing Hilco Real Estate Finance’s presence across London and the South East”.
The business, launched in 2023, offers short-term bridging loans and refinancing, with loan sizes ranging between £3m to over £100m.
Shirwani (pictured) brings over two decades of experience in mainstream and specialist lending, such as bridging and short-term loans, most recently at Cynergy Bank, where he served as director of bridging finance and oversaw its expansion into the short-term lending market.
Prior to this, he held senior positions at Lendhub, LendInvest and Metro Bank.
Hilco Real Estate Finance chief investment officer Max Lewis says: “One of the hallmarks of our approach is access to senior and experienced personnel.
“We are committed to building a best-in-class team from top down, and Asim’s appointment is a reflection of this philosophy and further enhances our lending capabilities”.
Shirwani adds: “As one of the UK’s most proactive and best-capitalised lenders, I know that Hilco Real Estate Finance has bold growth ambitions.”
