From 100-year-old mansion to Bel-Air home: Inside Diane Keaton’s luxurious real estate empire – Entertainment News

    October 13, 20253 Mins Read

Diane Keaton, the quirky and beloved actress who captured hearts with her role in ‘Annie Hall’, passed away at the age of 79.

She was known not only for her iconic roles in films like ‘The Godfather’ trilogy, Father of the Bride, and The First Wives Club, but also for her unique style and a surprising second career in real estate.

She leaves behind a legacy that spans film, fashion, design, and a fortune of $100 million.

Beyond her film career, Keaton’s passion for design was evident in her savvy real estate investments.

Over the years, she became well-known for buying, restoring, and flipping historic homes. Many of her projects were sold to other celebrities, a clear proof that her taste was admired not just by fans, but by those in the business too.

    The real estate empire

Keaton as a real estate investor was just as successful as her film career. She specialised in restoring historic homes, often bringing them back to life with thoughtful renovations.

One of her most notable deals was a 100-year-old mansion she purchased in 2007 for $8.1 million. Three years later, she sold it for $10 million to Ryan Murphy, the producer of ‘American Horror Story.’

Keaton was also known for her stunning properties in California. In 2002, she bought a Bel Air home, renovated it, and sold it for $16.5 million just three years later.

Another notable flip was a Laguna Beach property, which she sold for nearly $5 million more than she bought it for. Her investments in real estate were not only profitable but also showcased her unique eye for design and value.

In 2017, Keaton’s real estate journey came full circle when she listed her own ‘dream home’ in Los Angeles for a whopping $29 million.

Keaton’s legacy is not just in her films, but in the homes she lovingly restored, her unique fashion sense, and the influence she had on both Hollywood and the design world

    Keaton as a fashion icon

Keaton was much more than just a talented actress. She was a trendsetter with a personal style that became legendary in Hollywood. Her love for androgynous fashion, turtleneck sweaters, and signature hats made her instantly recognizable.

She was also known for her appreciation of architecture and design, often speaking about how she drew inspiration from Spanish Colonial and mid-century modern styles.

In 2017, she released a design book, ‘The House That Pinterest Built,’ in which she shared her love for beautiful homes and how she crafted her own dream house with ideas she found on Pinterest.
