LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – A free workshop aims to explain the ins and outs of how to legally manage a property being passed down from a parent and when a home’s status or condition is uncertain.
The workshop Thursday was organized by the nonprofit Project Build a Future.
There were local experts, food, games and prizes too.
Topics included:
- “Genealogy: Importance of Understanding the Family Bible” by the Calcasieu Parish Public Library.
- “Wills and Successions” by Southern Title.
- “Tax Sales” by the Drost Law Firm.
- “Demolition Process for Blighted and Lien-Burdened Properties” by Ronnie Harvey.
- “Courthouse Resources” by the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court’s Office.
