David Parnes and James Harris Announce They Are Going Their “Separate Ways” in Real Estate

    September 12, 20254 Mins Read

Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles alums and real estate agents David Parnes and James Harris made a major announcement this week when they confirmed they will no longer be business partners and are going their “separate ways” in business.

The longtime real estate duo confirmed the business breakup in a lengthy Instagram statement on Wednesday, Sept 10. The statement did make it clear that while they aren’t working as a duo anymore, their “friendship remains as strong as ever.”

“After 13 incredible years together and so many milestones achieved, we will be moving into the next chapter of our professional lives,” they wrote in the joint statement. “While we will be going our separate ways, our friendship remains as strong as ever.”

Elsewhere, the statement continues: “We are profoundly grateful to our extraordinary team, whose hard work and passion helped us reach new heights, and to our amazing clients, who have been with us every step of the way. Together, we have been fortunate to achieve industry accolades, break records, and set new standards, but what we are most proud of is the trust and relationships we have built along the way. None of this would have been possible without you, and we will never take that for granted. Looking back, we feel immense pride, but even more so gratitude.”

Inside James Harris and David Parnes’ real estate career

Together, David and James were known as the Bond Street Partners. They joined MDLLA in Season 7 and appeared on the Bravo show through Season 13 (more on that below). In MDLLA Season 15, David made a cameo on the series.

In their career as a real estate team, the pair worked at The Agency for Mauricio Umansky. They left Mauricio’s company in early 2024. Most recently, according to their Instagram bio, they serve as luxury real estate advisors at Carolwood Estates. Their separate Instagram bios both list their positions as “Principal” team members at the company.

Why did David Parnes and James Harris leave MDLLA?

Back in April 2022, David and James announced their exit from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. They opened up about the departure in a statement at the time.

“We never intended to come to Los Angeles to be on TV, and as fate had it, we started shooting a show which changed our business and our lives. From starting families to watching our kids grow, to climbing from [$1 million] in sales to over $5 billion in sales, we would never in our wildest dreams have imagined the world watching it happen along with us,” they wrote via Instagram in 2022. “After 7 amazing seasons spanning over 9 years, we feel the time has come to move on and leave the show which in many ways, has defined us. It’s a move that we have thought long and hard about and we feel that as our business has evolved, we need to keep moving. We thank all our fans wholeheartedly and vow that we won’t stop because we can’t stop.”

What’s next for James Harris and David Parnes after their split?

As their Sept. 10 statement reveals, they are focused on their clients as James and David move forward in this new phase in their careers. They wrote this week, “Most importantly, nothing changes when it comes to our clients. Serving you has always been, and will always remain, our number one priority. Your trust, loyalty, and confidence in us mean the world, and we are committed to continuing the same level of care, dedication, and service that has defined our journey.”

They closed out the statement, “Looking ahead, we feel excitement for what is to come.”

Speaking of The Agency, Mercedes “MJ” Javid opens up about working for the real estate company.
