Silver and Blood Tier List: Full Character Roster Ranked

With a roster spanning more than 50 vampiric, magical and armor-clad Vassals, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the huge variety of anime-styled dark fantasy characters on offer in Silver and Blood.

But as with any gacha collect-a-thon, you need to know who you’re rolling for, who’s worth investing your limited resources into, and which pulls should really get your blood pumping.

That’s why we’ve put together this Silver and Blood tier list, so you know which characters to sink your fangs into and which aren’t even worthy of being your thrall.

While your adventure begins as Noah Nevernight, a mysterious white-haried man afflicted with the Black Blood Disease, across the course of your journey through Silver and Blood you come cape-to-cape with all sorts of powerful friends and foes from a variety of factions, including the immortal Bloodborn, the Church inquisition determined the destroy them, and even the arcane Ancestors themselves. From these characters you build a team of up to 5 warriors, as you take on waves of monsters and massive bosses in real-time, strategic battles.

Does it make sense that adversaries suddenly set aside their differences and team up to defeat monsters or even, as is the case with some boss fights, themselves? Yes, actually! Remember in Silver and Blood it’s not the real characters themselves who’re fighting alongside our heroes, but Vassals; remembrances of the deceased summoned through the eldritch Embrace ritual to bolster the Bathory cause.

But still, even within the same rarity tier, some Vassals are stronger than others. Here are our picks of the best characters in Silver and Blood.

Why are the best Vassals in Silver and Blood the best?

If the adjective “Transcendent” wasn’t enough of a clue, the Transcendent versions of major characters are among the best in Silver and Blood and are all worthy of the S tier. Of them all, Transcendent Hati is worth shouting out as one of the best melee units in the game who can deal with both single-targets and large waves. For resilient enemies, she can deal poison damage over time which jumps to the next target when they’re defeated, but she can also deal massive AoE to lead from the front with her Ultimate.

As a general rule of thumb, if there’s a special, upgraded version of a character with an additional tag line, like Starry-eyed Aiona or Incendiary Agares, then they’re also very good (the exception is Spectral Gilrain). Starry-eyed Aiona for example is one of the best support units, whose shield essentially makes your front-line impenetrable. Incendiary Agares on the other hand pumps out a near stream of strong AoE when combined with a good healer.

Speaking of healers, powerful characters within the lore of Silver and Blood are also very strong on the tier list. Seth and Fleeting Bella are some of the best healers in the game, but they perform the role quite differently. Fleeting Bella is all about buffing the attack of her allies with her Ultimate, whereas Seth both neutralizes debuffs with incredible consistency and provides a constant stream of healing which enemies will find very difficult to break through.

Unlike some characters though, the base version of Bella is also very good since she provides a number of versatile functions via her summons, including taunt, solid damage, and control and AoE damage with her Ultimate.

Other “basic” characters who’re anything but basic include the unique support character, Acappella, whose musical notes provide a wide variety of utility to your squad, including healing, damage buffs and Bloodsoul recovery. The latter of these can be difficult to obtain, particularly in such a powerful package, so she’s definitely worth a look.

But where would a vampire game be without the legendary hunter, Van Helsing? He’s a relatively simple character who excels at dealing a massive amount of high damage. Van Helsing’s explosive ultimate which tears through waves of enemies with incredible power while his regular skills constantly buff his own attack to contribute consistently.

And while her easily obtainable “sister” isn’t quite as strong as the storyline might suggest, Lamia is a solid addition to just about any team, particularly if you don’t have a top-tier healer. As well as dealing good damage which bounces between multiple targets, Lamia also gives your entire team lifesteal (which heals them for a portion of the damage they deal) when the Blood Moon is in the sky.

Finally, I’ve put all of the lower rarity SR and R Vassals into the bottom tier. This is because their level cap is lower than SSR Vassals, which makes them basically obsolete at a certain point in your time with Silver and Blood. However, this can seem like a bit of a kick in the teeth for brand-new players who’re yet to spin a full team of SSR Vassals.

With that in mind, if you’ve just started the game, Aiona is a more than serviceable healer for early story content. Jestel and Setti are also fine at what they do, which is provide a movable melee taunt and deal single-target ranged damage respectively. You’re also given Empousa for clearing story missions who provides magic damage. If you’ve just picked the game up, don’t sweat about having a full team of high-tier characters immediately, as you’ll be able to pick them up gradually as you play.
