The City of Waukesha Police Department has canceled its silver alert after a missing 70-year-old man was found safe.
The man had been last seen in the 1400 block of Oakdale Drive in Waukesha on Friday, Oct. 3. The alert from police issued Oct. 4 says he went for a walk and never returned home.
Police described the man as a Black male who is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He is balding with gray hair and a full beard, brown eyes and he is missing the tip of his middle finger on his left hand.
The man was wearing a blue baseball hat with a white “M” on it, a light blue Nike sweater, gray Aeropostale sweatpants and tan shoes when last seen.
Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about two years ago, police said the man has little to no short-term memory.
Silver alerts are issued for elderly persons who have gone missing and are considered vulnerable, such as if they have a cognitive impairment such as dementia or Alzheimer’s.
