A Davenport woman accused of trying to steal copper wire from a business in December 2024 has been sentenced in the case.

Michelle Timm, now 61, entered guilty pleas to charges of conspiracy to commit a nonforcible felony and third-degree theft. The court sentenced Timm to a period not to exceed five years for the conspiracy charge and a period not to exceed two years for the third-degree theft charge. Charges of third-degree criminal mischief, possession of burglars tools and fourth-degree theft. The sentences were suspended and she was placed on supervised probation for two years. She must obtain a substance abuse evaluation within 60 days and complete any recommended treatment. She was ordered to pay $1,880 in fines and $8,309.30 in restitution to Del’s Metals/Midwest Recyclers.

A co-defendant, Michael Dugan of Davenport, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and was sentenced to two years of supervised probation. Both were arrested after police responded to Midwest Recyclers on December 4, 2024 for a burglary. Dugan took $553 in copper wire and he and Timm caused $1,500 in damages to a fence after they forced entry through a hole.
