Minecraft enters The Copper Age on September 30

Minecraft players are set to enter The Copper Age when the game drop releases on September 30, 2025. Mojang just announced the news during the Minecraft Live 2025 broadcast. A copper-powered future awaits fans featuring a new style of tools, decor, light sources, storage solutions, and more.

Here’s a breakdown of all the features coming to The Copper Age:

• Copper Golem

  • Summon them with copper and carved pumpkins to help bring your base to life. The Copper Golem removes items left in copper chests and sorts them based onn the item type.

• Copper Chests

  • A new block that players will have a summon a Copper Golem to get started. Drop items into a copper chest and let the Copper Golem sort it out.

• Copper Golem Statue

  • A fully oxidized Copper Golem will turn into a Copper Golem Statue, but you can scrape off the patina with an axe to wake them up. 
  • Copper Golem Statues have four different fun poses that players can choose by interacting with them.
  • Copper Golem Statues emit unique signals when connected to a redstone compactor.

• Copper Tools and Weapons

  • Copper is an official equipment tier with durabiliity somewhere between iron and stone. These items will not oxidize like copper blocks.

• Copper Armor

  • Players will get to choose from a new slew of copper armor including a helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots.
  • Get excited! Copper Horse Armor will be available for your trust steed.
  • Copper Armor is more durable than leather, but slightly less than iron.

• Shelves

  • Useful blocks that allow you to display up to three items.

• Oxidizing Lightning Rods

  • Any Lighting Rods you players craft will go from shiny orange to a bright green over time.

• Copper Laterns, Torches, Chains, and Bars
• New Dye Art

  • Dye art icons have been revamped to make them easier to identify

• Iron Golem and Copper Golem interaction

  • When an Iron Golem meets a Copper Golem, the two become friends and the Iron Golem gives the Copper Golem a flower which they immediately place on their head.
