PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said a homeowner called about a burglary in progress at the 1100 block of San Mateo Street around 5 a.m. Friday.
The sheriff’s office said the homeowner saw a man, 51-year-old Ramiro Peran, entering her home through her security camera. When deputies arrived, they surrounded the home and urged Peran to come out multiple times.
Eventually, Peran exited the home through a crawl space in the basement. The sheriff’s office said they were able to arrest him without further issues.
The sheriff‘s office said after further investigation, they learned Peran was trying to steal the home‘s copper piping, causing extensive damage to the home. They also found multiple credit cards that didn’t belong to Peran on his person.
The sheriff’s office said they arrested Peran for theft, second-degree burglary, criminal mischief, criminal possession of identification documents and criminal possession of four or more financial devices.
