The 2025-26 winter season is officially underway at Copper Mountain. On Wednesday, Oct. 1, Copper announced that overnight temperatures dropped low enough for the resort’s snowmaking teams to fire up the snow guns.
Copper blew snow early in the morning on Wednesday before shutting off the guns as temperatures rose. Snowmaking crews will continue to make snow at every opportunity over the coming weeks as the resort gears up for the season ahead.

Over the summer, Copper kicked off a multiyear snowmaking modernization project, making upgrades on nine trails and enhancing the resort’s ability to deliver early-season terrain. The improvements are expected to set the stage for another strong year of Alpine race training, including welcoming athletes for the Stifel Copper Cup from Nov. 27-30. Copper will also host the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix from Dec. 17-20.
Copper Mountain will officially open for the 2025–26 winter season on Friday, November 7.
