Trump touts new investments into US at meeting with world’s business leaders

    May 1, 20251 Min Read

US President Donald Trump has touted an increase in new investments coming into the country at an event with some of the world’s business leaders.

More than 20 CEOs from major companies planning to invest took part in the event at the White House on Wednesday.

Trump said, “The companies represented in this room have collectively announced more than 2 trillion dollars in new investments.”

He also said, “Every new investment, every new factory and every new job created, is a sign of strength in American economy and a declaration of confidence in America’s future.”

Among the guests was the Chairman and CEO of Japan’s SoftBank Group, Son Masayoshi.

The group is teaming up with US-based OpenAI and other IT firms in a new venture and plans to invest about 500 billion dollars in the US.

Son described the plan as “the largest investment for infrastructure in the United States.”

He said the US must continue the leadership of AI, and he believes AI is going to change every industry and mankind’s lifestyle in the future.
