T.I. Announces His Retirement From Performing | News

    October 11, 20242 Mins Read

T.I. has officially announced his retirement from performing.

During an appearance on 96.1 The Beat’s “Rari at 2” show with Young Dro, hosted by Ferrari Simmons and BT, the Atlanta legend discussed the station’s annual iHeartRadio Jingle Ball, where he’s set to headline alongside T-Pain, Sexyy Red, Saweetie, Khalid, Tinashe, and The Kid Laroi at State Farm Arena on Thursday, Dec. 19.

In the interview, T.I. revealed that this will be his final performance. “I appreciate y’all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore and I will not be performing,” he said. “I don’t want to do it anymore… I don’t want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment anymore.”

When Ferrari asked if T.I. would be involved in another upcoming show, he responded with, “Of course, I’m going to answer the phone to tell them that I will not be performing.” However, he clarified that while he’s stepping back, he may perform again in the future — but only on his own terms.

As reported by BET, last month, the “Live Your Life” hitmaker and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris won a $71 million lawsuit against MGA Entertainment, successfully proving that the toy company infringed on the intellectual property rights of their music group, OMG Girlz, with its L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. dolls. The Xscape singer took to Instagram Live to express her joy. “We did this for the city. We did this for the culture.” Reflecting on the case, which began in 2020, she added, “It was a fight. It was a hell of a fight. We couldn’t be more happy.”
