Wrestling legend Sting to remain a part of AEW even after his retirement?
Wrestling veteran and WWE Hall of Famer Sting finished his AEW career with an undefeated streak of 29 wins when he retired at the Revolution PPV. In his final match, he retained the AEW World Tag Team Champions alongside his partner Darby Allin against The Young Bucks.
Sting’s surprise appearance at Wembley Stadium after his retirement was met with a roaring crowd. He returned to All In 2024 to save his ally Darby Allin from being lit on fire by Jack Perry and The Elite. He recently shared a major update on his future at Tony Khan’s promotion.
Speaking with The David Difference at the 58th Annual Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion (via Kayfabe Friends), Sting shared a glimpse into his future and his new role at the Jacksonville-based promotion.
I signed a multi-year deal with AEW, obviously not to wrestle anymore, but it’s like a licensing deal, a legends deal if you want to call it that. So I’ll do appearances with them on and off, depending on what they want and all. I’ve done real estate, I did real estate before I ever was a pro wrestler, so I’ve always loved real estate.
A lot of people say, ‘Oh, are you a real estate agent?’ No, I’m not an agent. I’m an investor. I was flipping houses before before flipping houses was a term. So I made money in real estate before wrestling, so I’m doing that again, and I love it.”

Seem to be done with pro-wrestling, The Icon now looks to enjoy his time at the promotion on a ‘legends deal’, while also exploring his career as a real estate investor.
Darby Allin Once Opened Up On Sting’s Final Match In AEW
In an exclusive interview with Kenny McIntosh from Inside The Ropes, former TNT Champion Darby Allin discussed Sting’s final match at the promotion.
So earlier in the day, Sting is like, man, you’re not your normal self, you seem a little off, because normally I’m like just chilling. Then I look at him and I’m like, dude, how can I be chill? This is your last match! We have to hit it out of the park, you only get one shot at this. So we laid it all on the line that night, that was a pretty wild match.
At the end of the night, Sting came up to me, I’m all covered in blood and glass, he comes up to me and he’s just like that was easily one of my top three favourite matches of all time. That’s why we did what we did out there. So, that moment, it was all worth it so he doesn’t go at the end of night being like, Yeah, I had a good career, but that last match was bad. So, there were no regrets that night.”
After the match, the WCW World Champion hailed it as one of his career’s top three favorite matches.
