Investments in land-based aquaculture grow-out farms have topped $1 billion in only the first four months of 2025, up from $738 million in all of 2024, reveals Spheric Research, author of the annual Land-based Aquaculture Report (LBAR).
Investments have now surpassed the $3bn mark since 2020 and are likely to end 2025 much higher, said Matt Craze, founder of Spheric Research, who has just launched a live database of all its sector research, with weekly updates and a monthly analytical report, which is hosted and distributed by Undercurrent News. That’s in addition to the annual PDF LBAR report, which will arrive later in May.
