This former WWE Champion wants to face John Cena in his retirement tour.
Cena is close to wrapping up his pro-wrestling career with his retirement tour next year. Confirmed to be a part of Raw’s Netflix debut on January 6th, 2025, he is rumored to begin his retirement tour then and also have his final WrestleMania match at ‘Mania 41.
With multiple feuds in place for Cena’s final year, a former WWE Champion expressed his desire to get in the ring with The Leader of the Cenation. In an interview on ‘The Rich Eisen Show‘, The Miz opened up on Cena’s pending retirement and his interest in facing his former arch-nemesis.
We’ll never see John Cena in a match at WrestleMania ever again. When Cena says something, that’s one of those things. Like sometimes it’s like, oh, no, they’ll be like Motley Crue. It’s our last tour ever. Then they’re on tour three years later. No, Cena’s not like that. If Cena says this is it, this is it. And I’m curious to see who’s going to go up against him because I’m putting my name in the hat. I’ll heel that one out all day. Names in the hat.”

Back in the day, Cena and The Miz shared an intense rivalry, with the two main-eventing WrestleMania 27 in 2011, and later another mixed-tag match against each other at ‘Mania 33. However, with the 16-time World Champion’s final year coming up, The Miz is not the only one interested in fighting him.
LA Knight Hopes To Face John Cena In His Final WWE WrestleMania Match
During his recent appearance on Beef Vegan Presents on Rock 102.1 KFMA, United States Champion LA Knight shared his fondness of facing current Champions Cody Rhodes or Gunther at the upcoming WrestleMania. However, LA Knight did not stop there and also fancied facing former ally John Cena at ‘Mania 41.
Man, there’s so many different ways you can go. I mean, I look at the fact that WrestleMania’s gonna be John Cena’s last WrestleMania. Could it be me against John Cena for that United States Championship? I don’t know. Will I even be the United States Champion by then? It could be, if I was gonna fantasy book, I would probably do a title vs. title, me versus Cody, or maybe even me versus Gunther. I’m looking for the champions. I want the world championship, I want the WWE Championship, and so for me, again, it’s always that progression. Let’s continue moving up, let’s continue moving forward.
I think we could do some special things, whether it was Cena, whether it was with Gunther, or whether it was with Cody. Then again, the crazy thing about this career, especially since being in WWE, it’s just that there are things that I haven’t even thought about or didn’t even know existed as options for me, that have presented themselves. You never know, especially between now and April, anything could happen.”
