Regulatory, fintech innovators’ collaboration needed to help MSMEs thrive – Adeoti, Routelink CEO

    August 10, 20252 Mins Read

Femi Adeoti, the co-founder and group managing director, Routelink Group, has advocated for deeper collaboration between regulatory agencies and fintech innovators to create a balanced environment where small businesses can thrive without undue bureaucratic roadblocks.

Speaking during the ICTEL EXPO 2025, Adeoti stated that startups no longer need millions to scale their businesses in today’s technology-driven economy. According to him, technology is currently the great equaliser in business growth and scalability for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The two-day ICTEL EXPO 2025, was organised under the theme ‘Connect, Learn, Grow,’ by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), with industry players, policymakers, tech founders, and innovators, who converged on Lagos for exhibitions, business pitches, panel discussions, and networking.

“You no longer need millions to build scale. With the right tools, platforms and strategic partnerships, young businesses can now reach markets and audiences that were once impossible. The barrier is no longer capital — it is creativity and clarity of purpose,” Adeoti stated during a panel session themed, ‘Financial Technology Innovation and Business Growth of Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises in Africa.’

Adeoti explained how smart deployment of tech infrastructure and leveraging affordable cloud-based solutions can drive exponential growth for startups without the heavy capital once considered a prerequisite.

The session featured a line-up of business leaders and innovators, including Modupe Ladipo, founder, Prospera Consulting; Segun Akintemi, CEO, Page Financials; Deremi Atanda, managing director, Remita Payment Services; and Solomon Ayodele, head, corporate transformation and innovation, WEMA Bank, and moderated by Seye Obisesan, MD, Bright Trends Consulting.

According to Adeoti, Routelink Group is an ICT company that delivers cybersecurity, telecoms and payment solutions. According to him, the firm also provides cutting-edge business solutions across multiple sectors, and continues to champion digital transformation initiatives that empower SMEs and corporations across Nigeria.
