HSBC Holdings Plc has completed an investment of an undisclosed sum in Chinese cross-border e-commerce fintech firm Dowsure.
HSBC led the Series C funding round, having first invested in Shenzhen-based Dowsure in 2023, according to a statement.
The partnership with Dowsure “reflects our commitment in serving the evolving needs of cross-border merchants in an increasingly digital economy,” HSBC Managing Director Neo Wang said in the statement.
Founded by IBM alumnus Byron Pei, Dowsure provides cross-border financing solutions to businesses, and has products and systems used by major technology platforms such as Amazon.com Inc. and eBay Inc., it says.
HSBC also invested in European fintech firm Token.io in June.
