Fintech Airwallex Announces Yield Launches In Singapore And Hong Kong, Global Partnership With Arsenal

    July 28, 20253 Mins Read

Airwallex, a global Fintech platform, has made significant progress this year, reinforcing its mission to enable businesses with digital financial services.

The company recently announced the launch of its Airwallex Yield product in Singapore, following regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and the full rollout of Yield in Hong Kong after receiving a license from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

Additionally, Airwallex has forged a global partnership with Arsenal Football Club, positioning itself as a key player in global financial operations and brand visibility.

These developments underscore Airwallex’s commitment to transforming treasury management and supporting businesses worldwide.

In Singapore, Airwallex Capital Pte Ltd secured a Capital Markets Services (CMS) license from the MAS, enabling the company to offer investment solutions and custodial services through Airwallex Yield.

This product allows businesses to earn returns on surplus funds held in multi-currency accounts, with no lock-up periods and access to highly rated money market funds managed by industry participants Fullerton Fund Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Gary Harvey, Executive Director of Airwallex Capital (Singapore), emphasized the importance of effective cash management.

The service’s integration within Airwallex’s broader platform ensures businesses can manage payments, foreign exchange, and treasury operations, addressing the rising costs and cash flow challenges faced by Singapore’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

This launch follows a rollout in Australia and Hong Kong, with Singapore’s digital economy serving as a strategic hub for Airwallex’s global expansion.

In Hong Kong, Airwallex made history as the first global payments group to receive an SFC license for asset management services, enabling the full launch of Airwallex Yield in the region.

Initially rolled out in beta to select businesses, the product now allows companies to generate returns of up to 3.97% on multi-currency balances through discretionary portfolio management services.

Partnering with J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Airwallex leverages short-duration money market instruments to deliver competitive, liquid returns without minimum lock-up periods.

This flexibility is significant for businesses managing cross-border operations, as it eliminates the need to open foreign bank accounts while maximizing idle funds.

The Hong Kong launch builds on Airwallex’s earlier efforts in Australia, where Yield attracted over US$67.3 million in funds under management since its debut in November 2023.

The company’s ability to secure regulatory approvals in both Singapore and Hong Kong highlights its robust infrastructure and commitment to compliance, positioning it as a trusted partner for over 150,000 businesses globally.

Complementing its product development efforts, Airwallex announced a global partnership with Arsenal Football Club, becoming the club’s Official Finance Software Partner.

This collaboration, announced on July 17, 2025, will see Airwallex support Arsenal’s financial operations, including payment gateway services, and serve as the Presenting Partner for the club’s 2025/26 pre-season tour across Singapore and Hong Kong.

Airwallex’s branding will appear across Emirates Stadium and Arsenal’s digital channels.

Juliet Slot, Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the potential for operational efficiencies.

This partnership, Airwallex’s second global sports collaboration following a  tie-up with McLaren Racing, aims to amplify its brand presence and underscores its role as an enabler for global businesses.

These milestones reflect Airwallex’s growth and strategic vision.

With a 390% revenue increase in Singapore for 2024 and a global customer base exceeding 150,000, the company continues to introduce products like Yield and Spend, addressing the financial pain points of SMEs and large enterprises.

By combining technology, regulatory compliance, and various partnerships, Airwallex is aiming to enhance global financial operations, enabling businesses to grow in a sustainable manner.
