Europe is still the centre of fintech innovation despite Revolut and Wise eyeing US listings, according to European tech companies and investors.
In a major blow to the London Stock Exchange, Revolut chief executive Nikolay Storonsky decided against a UK listing last year, saying it is “not rational” and that London cannot compete with the US market. UK challenger bank Starling is also reportedly weighing a US initial public offering, while fintech Wise said it will move its primary listing from London to a US stock exchange next year.
