    Winners of East of England Energy Group awards announced

    The awards took place at Dunston Hall in Norwich where 11 awards were presented to winners across the sector.

    Norwich Airport-based Saxon Air picked up two awards for Positive Impact in the Community and Going Green.

    Immerse Safety was chosen as One to Watch, while Tidal Transit scooped the Innovation award.

    Outstanding Contribution to Skills for Energy went to Shaun Hutchinson of ODE Asset Management, while Apprentice Employer of the Year was presented to Armultra.

    Sponsor East Coast Training Academy chose Cole Barber as Young Person of the Year, and Charlie McAneany from OEG was hailed Rising Star of the Year.

    EEEGR member Trevor Fuller, owner of Departure Lounge Media Group, a provider of timelapse, video, photography and VR 360 services, was chosen by the EEEGR team as their Member of the Year for his support and dedication to the industry over the past 12 months.

    There were also two special Lifetime Achievement awards this year for retiring energy stalwarts Alan O’Neill and Jennifer Cushion, who were presented with Outstanding Contribution to the Industry.

    Alan, owner of CHPV Photography and Videography has Europe’s largest offshore photography collection.

    He is stepping back after 44 years behind the lens recording history and telling the energy story from the first platforms, first gas, the beginning and growth of offshore wind, the first turning turbines and every milestone in between.

    Jennifer Cushion is a consultant at OEG and retiring managing director of Fern Communications in Lowestoft, known for its design, installation and maintenance of offshore technology.

    The awards, which depicted a turning turbine, were designed by a group of young scholars from REAGIT, a Norwich-based training company that supports students to gain the skills they need to excel at industry level.

    Money was raised throughout the event, on Thursday, December 4, for EEEGR’s charity of the year, the Norfolk Community Foundation.
