RAIPUR: An eight-member delegation from the Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy, Uzbekistan, will visit Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur, on August 21 to explore collaborations in agricultural education and research. The team will be led by the institute’s rector, Dr Roziv.According to IGKV officials, the delegation will review the university’s infrastructure and research facilities. A brainstorming session will also be held, chaired by IGKV Vice-Chancellor Dr Girish Chandel, where senior officials, scientists, and professors from both sides will discuss opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, environment, water conservation, and other scientific areas. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Deputy Director-General Dr R.K. Agarwal will also attend.IGKV and the Denau Institute signed an agreement on April 17, enabling students from both institutions to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The pact also provides for faculty and scientist exchanges to strengthen research and academic ties.During the visit, the Uzbek delegation will gather information on IGKV’s facilities, local environment, and research areas to prepare future plans. In the next phase of the agreement, IGKV officials and scientists will visit the Uzbek institute.The brainstorming session will also focus on educational reforms, academic innovations, and research collaborations in horticulture, oilseeds, fibre crops, fisheries, forestry, agro-chemistry, plant protection, agri-business, and food processing. The delegation is also scheduled to inspect IGKV’s departments and activities to develop a joint strategy.
