The first reviews for Season 2 of Peacock Network’s hit show, Twisted Metal, are out, and critics are impressed by it. The first three episodes of Twisted Metal Season 2 were released on July 31, with subsequent episodes scheduled to be released weekly. Twisted Metal is based on a video game and revolves around the life of Anthony Mackie’s character, John Doe, in a post-apocalyptic world.
In his review, Ross Bonaime of Collider praised the humor of the show and asserted, “The humor is darker and stranger, the characters are even more unbelievable and out of control, and the tournament itself is, by and large, what fans have been waiting for.”
Ryan Britt of Men’s Journal wrote in his review, “There’s plenty of over-the-top violence and action, but it’s all tempered with a bit of love and a very specific brand of 1990s sense of both what is cool and also what is nice.” He also stated that the new season is “fun, weird, and even more heartfelt than Season 1.”
Julian Roman of MovieWeb calls Season 2 of Twisted Metal a “banger.” Roman further stated, “Twisted Metal revs up the humor, carnage and demolition-derby action. Fans of the classic video games will be thrilled to see Anthony Carrigan in all of his maniacal glory as series villain Calypso.”
Trent Moore of Paste Magazine lauded the season for being “fun” and called it a “delightfully pleasant surprise.”
Twisted Metal Season 2 has earned a better score on Rotten Tomatoes, surpassing its predecessor. While Season 1 debuted with a 67 percent on the Tomatometer, it now stands at 78 percent.
However, Season 2 of the show has managed to score a whopping 90 percent upon its debut, generating more hype among audiences. Currently, there is no score on the Popcornmeter as the season just premiered.
