

The Twisted Metal TV series has been rewind for a third season, and will have a new showrunner and executive producer in the form of Supernatural’s David Reed, who is taking over from Michael Jonathan Smith.
Peacock revealed that the second season of Twisted Metal “registered 993 million minutes viewed” on the service, making it the “second highest-reaching original returning scripted season.”

The Twisted Metal series takes pace in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and follows John Doe (Anthony Mackie), an amnesiac milkman who embarks on a mission to travel the United states to deliver a strange package, the contents of which is unknown. The series is based on Sony’s popular vehicular combat game and also features Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett and Thomas Haden Church among the cast.
The Twisted Meal video game series kicked off for the PSOne back in 1995 and was followed by 1996’s Twisted Metal 2, with both games develop by SingleTrac. 989 Studios took up the development reins for Twisted Metal III and Twisted Metal 4, which were also released for the PSOne. The franchise made the transition to the PS2 with the release of 2001’s Twisted Metal Black, and serves as a reboot of the franchise, with the series seeing its most recent instalment in 2012’s Twisted Metal for the PS3.
