The Legend Of Zelda Royal Crest Metal Puzzle Is Cheap For Cyber Monday

    December 1, 20252 Mins Read

The Legend of Zelda fans can score a great deal on officially licensed Hanayama metal puzzles themed around iconic symbols and gear from the Nintendo franchise. The Hyrule Crest Hanayama puzzle is on sale for only $12.86 (was $32) during Amazon’s Cyber Monday sale. The other two puzzles in the Zelda collection aren’t as steeply discounted, but Amazon’s $21.36 price for the Triforce puzzle is the lowest it’s been since the summer. The Master Sword-themed puzzle is $23.49, which matches the lowest price over the past six months.

The Legend of Zelda: Hanayama Metal Brain Teasers

Designed by Japanese puzzle manufacturer Hanayama, each Zelda brain teaser has the same objective: take it apart, then put it back together. While that may sound pretty easy, these are dubbed brain teasers for a reason. Hanayama’s puzzles have Mensa difficulty ratings ranging from one to six, and all three Zelda puzzles are Level 4 (hard) or higher. For those unfamiliar with Mensa, it’s a society for people with high IQs (98th percentile or better).

Even if you can’t figure out how to solve the brain teaser, at least you’ll have a high-quality metal collectible to display on your desk. Hanayama notes that these puzzles are suitable for ages 12 and up–but many adults will likely run into some trouble disassembling and rebuilding these puzzles.

The “simplest” Zelda puzzle is the Hyrule Crest with a 4 rating. It tasks you with trying to untangle a metal chain from a diecast model of the Royal Crest.

The most difficult Zelda brain teaser is the Master Sword–which carries the max rating of 6 and is almost certainly more frustrating than the Water Temple from Ocarina of Time. Your goal with this one is to somehow remove the Master Sword from its block, then figure out a way to get it reinstalled. The Hylian Crest is imprinted on the sides of the block.

Once you work your way through all these Zelda puzzles, you can check out the rest of the Hanayama catalog, which includes dozens of puzzles of varying difficultly. These puzzles often have eye-catching designs that’ll look great on coffee tables or home offices, and since most are quite small, you can bring them with you while traveling to give your brain a workout.
