L-R: Co-founder/Head of Partnership & Brand Marketing, TBT Agro, Damilola Adeyemi; Founder, TBT Agro, Tesleem Tunji-Bello; Brand Partner, TBT Agro, Seyi Awolowo at the Go-Live of TBT Agro Digital Platform
TBT Agro, a rising agritech company, has launched a digital platform aimed at addressing key challenges in Nigeria’s agricultural commodity market, including lack of market accessibility, price manipulation, unreliable supply chains, and inefficient logistics. The platform streamlines the sourcing, buying, and selling of agro commodities, improving efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.
Speaking at the launch, Tesleem Tunji-Bello, Co-Founder of TBT Agro, highlighted the difficulties farmers and suppliers face in accessing larger markets and securing fair prices for their produce. “One of the biggest barriers in Nigeria’s agricultural sector is the lack of direct market accessibility. Many suppliers struggle to connect with serious buyers, leading to price instability and wastage. By leveraging technology, we facilitate seamless transactions, provide real-time market insights, and help businesses procure agro commodities efficiently,” he said.
Since its pilot phase, TBT Agro has onboarded over 1,000 farmers and aims to expand its reach to over 20,000 farmers within the next 18 months. The platform also plans to integrate predictive analytics and AI-driven market intelligence to further optimize agricultural sourcing and trade.
“We are not just creating a platform; we are redefining how agro commodities are sourced and traded in Nigeria,” said Seyi Awolowo, Brand Partner of TBT Agro and the grandson of Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo . “By bridging critical gaps in the supply chain, we are making agricultural trade more structured, efficient, and profitable for all stakeholders.”
