Damascus, Jan. 25 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Agriculture Amjad Badr on Sunday held talks with Turkish Ambassador to Damascus Nuh Yilmaz on strengthening agricultural cooperation between the two countries and activating existing agreements to serve mutual interests and support stability in Syria’s agricultural sector.
The discussions took place at the Ministry of Agriculture in Damascus, where Badr stressed the importance of stabilizing the agricultural sector, increasing production and creating suitable conditions for the return of displaced people to their home areas.

Badr said the liberation of Syria’s eastern regions from SDF has opened promising opportunities for agricultural investment, citing the areas’ significant agricultural potential and available resources.
For his part, Ambassador Yilmaz affirmed Turkey’s readiness to provide various forms of support and assistance to enhance bilateral cooperation in agriculture and across related fields.
Syria and Turkey signed a memorandum of good intentions in the agricultural sector on Sept. 14, aimed at strengthening cooperation and developing local production. The memorandum includes the formation of joint committees between the two ministries to study and advance cooperation in various agricultural areas.
