Schneider Electric, a French energy-technology firm, unveiled new AI-enabled solutions at the World Economic Forum in Davos last week.
The company, led by Chief Executive Olivier Blum, argued that artificial intelligence is key to improving energy efficiency and advancing digital transformation across industries. The 56th annual meeting, held from 19 to 23 January, underscored the growing interdependence of technology and energy systems in a world seeking greener, smarter infrastructure.
“AI requires compute, and compute requires energy. That is why the world needs greater energy intelligence,” Blum said in a statement on Sunday.
He added, “As your energy technology partner, we electrify, automate, and digitalise every industry, business, and home, creating ecosystems where AI, data, and people work together seamlessly. Let us take the opportunity at Davos to advance energy technology together.”
During the forum, Schneider Electric was recognised in Cohorts 1 and 2 of the MINDS (Meaningful, Intelligent, Novel, Deployable Solutions) programme, which highlights high-impact, real-world AI applications. Blum accepted the trophy for the company’s EcoStruxure Microgrid Advisor and Snaplogic Touchscreen Room Controller at the winners’ reception on 20th January.
The company’s Wuhan factory also received its ninth Global Lighthouse distinction this year in the newly introduced talent category. The recognition honours Schneider Electric’s pioneering, people-centric workforce model that bridges the skills gap and sets a benchmark for manufacturing resilience.
Schneider Electric’s Executive Vice President of Energy Management, Frédéric Godemel, convened a cross-industry cohort of global decision-makers on behalf of the Bloomberg New Economy Energy Technology Coalition.
The meeting, the coalition’s first significant gathering, aims to accelerate adoption of technologies that enhance energy efficiency, resilience, and responsiveness amid rising global electricity demand.
In addition, Schneider Electric and Portuguese energy company EDP launched EDGE Transition, a global accelerator designed to empower social entrepreneurs delivering clean, affordable energy solutions and inclusive economic opportunities in underserved communities.
The programme supports early-stage impact ventures through mentorship, technical validation, strategic partnerships, and access to patient, risk-tolerant capital, accelerating equitable access to energy and advancing the global energy transition.
Through these initiatives, Schneider Electric reinforced its commitment to building connected, AI-enabled energy ecosystems that drive efficiency, sustainability, and inclusive growth worldwide.
