Royal Agricultural Winter Fair returns to Toronto this weekend

    November 6, 20252 Mins Read

The Royal, the largest indoor agricultural and equestrian event in the world, typically draws 300,000 people to annual event

The largest indoor agricultural and equestrian event in the world is making its way back to Toronto this weekend.

From Nov. 7 to 16, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair will take over Exhibition Place, showcasing farming, local food, livestock and equestrian competitions.

As part of the fair, farmers, growers, producers and homesteaders have made their way to Toronto every November since 1922.

The Royal typically draws 300,000 people from across the country every year, according to the organization.

At the heart of the festival are the equestrian competitions, including the popular Royal Horse Show, where over 1,000 competitors will compete for $1.2 million in prize money, as well as for royal, national and world champion titles.

Attendees will also be able to visit heavy horses, ponies and sport horses in the venue’s Horse Palace with a general admission pass.

The fair will offer several other attractions alongside the horses. There will be a dog competition in the Animal Theatre, square dancing, a butter sculpture display, a dairy education centre and a chef’s table.

Animal encounters with real farm animals and a mechanical bull will be featured as well.

This year will also be the first time the event is introducing a holiday market. To celebrate the festive season, the organization said aisles will be filled with handmade gifts, gourmet treats and seasonal delights.

During the fair, Sunday and Monday operations are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while the fair will run every other day of the week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets are available for purchase online.
