Promotion Does NOT Show Young Woman Harmed By Energy Drinks — Hijacked TikTok Video Of Woman With Punctured Lung

    October 24, 20253 Mins Read

Does a video clip show a young woman who had lung surgery because of energy drinks who will never be able to speak again? No, that’s not true: The video footage was taken from another TikTok account where it was presented with no mention of energy drinks. The original @hey_itsabs video caption said that her lung had been punctured by a doctor.

The promotional video (archived here) was published by @biohack_secret on Oct. 16, 2025. The caption begins:

🚨warn your loved ones before it’s too late…

After my daughter’s heart stopped from drinking too many energy drinks… the doctor said she was lucky to survive…😭

Avoid these toxic products at all costs and replace them with PHM Hydrogen water tubes for a clean and steady energy all day. 💙

This is what the post looked like on TikTok at the time of writing:

The text captioning at the start of the video says:

After my daughter had a lung surgery because of Energy drinks…now she will NEVER speak again
Please Avoid these TOXIC Products before it’s too late…

The video then shifts to a pitch against energy drinks and for some other products.

The scope of this fact check will not extend to the ingredients of popular energy drinks or the purported harmful effects, or the benefits of “Tropical” brand products; Coco Water or Zero Aloe Vera or “Pure Health” Molecular Hydrogen tablets. This fact check is to identify the source of the video showing a young woman, walking assisted by three nurses and connected to several machines on wheels which are being maneuvered along with her.

On Aug. 25, 2025 a video (archived here) was published on TikTok by @hey_itsabs (pictured below). The text captioning on the video reads:

late night finds but it’s me walking in the ICU after a doctor punctured my lung and almost killed me

The hashtags with the post are:

Nothing in the presentation of this video suggests that this woman’s hospitalization has anything to do with energy drinks. In other videos (here and here) she has used the hashtag #pulmonaryhypertension.

The TikTok account @biohack_secret (pictured below) which has misleadingly used the video from @hey_itsabs, has posted many videos with footage originating from other sources.

Another example of a deceptive @biohack_secret promotion is a video (pictured below left) which was taken from the TikTok account of Tyshawn Lewis (pictured below right) @tys.world1 (archived here).

The video posted by @biohack_secret (archived here) has text captions reading:

After my son destroyed his kidney with energy drinks I had to give him mine to save him…
Please avoid these TOXIC drinks if you want to stay safe

While the caption on the original @tys.world1 video (archived here) says:

Fight , push , fight , push #als #findacure #terminal 💙💪🏾 4 years I’ve been fighting 💪🏾 why give up now ? I survived these mean streets of south central Los Angeles…. Most definitely can survive this

Tyshawn Lewis was convicted of first-degree murder and began serving time in prison shortly before he began showing symptoms of ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease. With little time to live, he met the criteria under California’s penal code PEN § 1172.2 to be granted what is known as compassionate release. Lewis died on Sept. 5, 2025.
