Portland metal band Ligature Marks competes in Metal Hammer’s Tracks of the Week

    August 8, 20242 Mins Read

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A Portland metal band is competing with some well-known bands for Metal Hammer’s Tracks of the Week.

Ligature Marks’ song “Pray and Suffocate” is going up against 11 other tracks in this week’s competition.

“These are bands we’ve all kind of listened to for years and they’re pretty prolific metal bands,” said Benjamin Charles, the lead singer for Ligature Marks. “When I found out we were even on this list, I was blown away.”

Early in the week, Ligature Marks was leading the poll. They’ve since gone down a bit in votes.

“Huge honor for us to even be on this list and that’s what I’ve been trippin’ out on all week and I’ve been talking to my friends and my people trying to convince them to go vote and all that. I can’t even believe on this list, it still kind of blows my mind,” said Charles. “Sometimes a good song just kind of writes itself and I think that’s what happened with this one.”

The poll will run through Thursday night. You can vote for the Portland band here.

You can watch the video for “Pray and Suffocate” on YouTube and learn more about the band on their website.
