Ravenshill Farm in Old Turnpike Road hopes to transform eight of its vacant agricultural buildings for commercial use and change parts of the farm to allow greater activity.
The plans state the proposed building uses will be class B8 (storage and distribution of products), B2 (general Industrial purposes like manufacturing) and E(g)(iii) (commercial, business and service for industry).
The site is in a rural location, and to accommodate increased numbers accessing the site, the plans suggest widening the existing northern access off Old Turnpike Road by 2.3 meters.
Parts of the plan also show that 69 car parking spaces will be available.
On the planning application, it states: “The ground will be surfaced with porous hardcore and used for parking and turning in association with the adjacent proposed commercial uses.
“No additional hardstanding will be laid, and so there will not be any loss of biodiversity on the site.
“The floor plan of the proposed commercial uses will include ancillary offices and toilets, which will be connected to a package treatment plant located to the south of the application site.
“The roof of the buildings will be fitted with solar panels.”
Two grain silos located near units one and two will be removed during the site changes.
Ravenshill Farm currently comprises a farmhouse, several vacant agricultural buildings of various ages, designs and materials, and two listed buildings.
The plans do not suggest work on the listed buildings at Ravenshill Farm and work will take place on the 0.94 hectares of agricultural buildings.
The consultation period for the plans ends on January 5.
