Peebles Agricultural Show 2025 Results Announced

    August 22, 202517 Mins Read

Nether Horsburgh Farm played host to this year’s celebration, welcoming in dozens of exhibitors to Peeblesshire to show off the best of their flock last Saturday, August 16.

Jim Currie, show president, spoke to our colleagues at the Scottish Farmer about why the gathering remains one of the very best in Scotland.

“It brings everybody together,” Jim said. “The farming industry right now, Scotland’s in a better place than England.

“Prices of stock is good all over, the Scottish Government is backing us and so is NFU.
    “It’s very important.”

The Peebles Show is bolstered by also featuring the North Country Cheviot National Show as part of its programme.

Large crowds gathered from all over to enjoy a superb display in both the park and hill sections of the event.

Jim continued: “There is a lot of people in the show at Cheviots, we usually have quite a good show at Cheviots.

“There is an extra 120 sheep down there today so obviously that could be another 15, 18 exhibitors who have never been to the show.

“Hopefully, they’ll maybe come back next year if they enjoy it.”

Exhibitors brought their finest livestock to display to judges across a range of categories on Saturday.

“The cattle is a hard issue everywhere,” Jim added. “The sheep’s in great numbers, biggest show in Scotland.
