LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Friday night, an all-star lineup of heavy metal bands will be rattling the walls of Stickyz Rock N’ Roll Chicken Shack for a good cause.
Headlined by Little Rock doom quartet Pallbearer, the show also features support from San Diego sludge act -(16)- as well as Arkansas doom bands Seahag and Dirtmother.
Show Calendar: Concerts happening in Arkansas in June
The show serves as a benefit for Nicole Garrett, wife of Spirit Adrift frontman Nate Garrett, following her diagnosis with stomach cancer.
“If you have ever been fortunate enough to encounter Nicole, you know her most defining characteristic is selflessness. She has touched so many lives and given so freely,” Garrett said in a GoFundMe post. “She’s done so much for so many people, because that’s what she loves to do: help people. She would never set this up for herself, but she’s allowed me to do it because we both know she needs help.”
Arkansas doom legends Rwake return with first new album in 13 years
In addition to the bands playing, Friday night’s show will also feature a community rock jam with members of various bands including Nate Garrett, Stephanie Smittle of Iron Tongue, Jeff Morgan and Brittany Fugate of Rwake and Chuck Schaaf of Deadbird.
Doors for the show open at 6:30 p.m., with music beginning at 7 p.m.; tickets are on sale at Stickyz.com.
