ST. PAUL, Minn. (KTTC) – Several agricultural students around Minnesota have been awarded with scholarships to help further their education.
This scholarship, the Minnesota State Fair Youth Scholarship (MSFYS), is awarded to students that are either from rural areas of Minnesota or have enrolled in an agricultural program in the last academic school year.
The annual award gives out up to 22 scholarships of $1,000 each. In addition to that, two $2,000 Trade Scholarships are given to a person of any age that’s entering a skilled trade career.
Since the scholarship’s inception 30 years ago, nearly $600,000 has been awarded to agricultural students in its time of existence.

- Katherine VanPelt – Austin (MSFYS)
- Hannah Wetzel – Faribault (MSFYS)
- Jazlyn Geerdes – Fairmont (Trade)
- Sidney Leonard – Millville (Trade)
