The Japanese games market is usually dominated by Switch software, but the latest Famitsu sales figures reveal a rare week in which a PS5 title rules the roost.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has managed to score the number one slot on the physical sales chart, selling an estimated 63,585 copies.
Further down the list is Super Robot Wars Y; the PS5 version is sitting at number five, having sold 30,969 copies. Another new release making a top 10 debut is console exclusive Lost Soul Aside, which squeaks in at number nine.
Over on the hardware side, things aren’t quite as healthy for PlayStation; the PS5 is in fourth place behind a trio of Nintendo units, selling just under 5,000 machines — closer to 6,000 if you include the Digital Edition as well. PS5 Pro, meanwhile, manages 2,437 sales.
A fairly typical week of business in Japan for PlayStation, then, but at least there are a couple of games on the platform making some headway.
