Protesters have been celebrating this week after Sheringham Town Council voted to not support Norfolk County Council’s plans to demolish the 1950s structure in Station Approach.
The demonstration has been ongoing for nearly two weeks, with locals camping out in all temperatures in their efforts to save the shelter from the county council’s bulldozers.
On day five, campaigners woke up to large metal fencing installed at the crack of dawn hiding the shelter and the protesters from view.

But now, the demonstrators are celebrating another victory as the council made its first move to withdraw from the site, as it pledged following the town council meeting.
Workers have now removed the large metal panels, opening the shelter back into full view.
Katie Hart, who started the petition, said: “We are pleased the metal fencing has come down – moral is high and the support from the community is still amazing.”
She added that they will continue to stay put while they await further information.
